Scabal's luxury fabrics in DNR

"Our product is very much an emotional product", says Neil Hart, sales director of Scabal. Which is why, back in 1999, Scabal launched its Gold Treasure collection, an assortment of super 150s made from Australian merino, which incorporates 22-karat-gold thread into its otherwise conservative cloth. That, in turn, was followed by a Diamond Chip collection, made by taking microscope fragments from an Antwerp gem cutter and dispersing them into cleaned, combed wool before it's spun into yarn. More recently, the company added Lapis Lazuli to its lineup: a 14-part collection made in much the same way as its Diamond Chip designs, but using fragments of the semiprecious stone in Super 150s wools that are dyed with decoration to evoke true lapis blue.
